KP and Byron, chattin' up the airwaves

Myself and my good friend Byron Bard were invited into the plush red interior of RTRFM on the day of our slam heat, to talk about poetry and spit some words. You can listen to the podcast of the Morning Mag show here (we were on at 11.32am, near the middle of the last quarter of the show - does that even make sense?). Fun times in radio!

STUFF I CAN DO

I'm a freelance creative - just lancing freely around Perth, creating it up.

I'm an editor - I was the 2010 Editor of Pelican magazine, for which I also wrote, designed, and drew. I'm devastating with a red pen.

I'm a writer - I have had poems published in dotdotdash, the Perth Poetry Club zine, and Australian Reader. I have also had articles published in Mine Style magazine and Pelican magazine. I write opinion pieces, features, interviews, reviews, essays, short fiction, long fiction, scripts, poetry... I loooove to write.

I'm a performer - I have performed my words at many an open mic, and have featured at the Perth Poetry Club, and Cottonmouth. I am a National Finalist in the 2010 Australian Poetry Slam, having come runner-up in the 2010 WA Slam Finals.
(I also played a young lad named Gary in a university production of the absurdist masterpiece "Seven Lears", but let's not talk about that.)

I'm a graphic designer - I designed much of the layout for Pelican 2010, as well as several covers. I also designed Pelican's marketing artwork in the 2011 UWA Guild Diary.

I'm a creative consultant - I am on the Express Media Advisory Committee, and have been hired by writers who need a bit of help getting their writing projects off the ground, or who need their manuscripts professionally proofread.
